OBJECTIVES
The Africa 2011 Business Awards aim to reward Canadian companies which have exceptionally contributed to Africa’s development. How come? By creating jobs, by investing in human resources and by getting involved in economically viable projects which benefit populations. These awards are given out according to certain criteria defined by a jury of professionals and organizations from the business world working with Canadian companies involved in Africa. The selection will be made according to actions realised in the past two years.
CATEGORIES
Companies can win a prize in the following categories:
- Import: To reward the company which has most developed commercial ties with Africa in terms of imports.
- Export: To reward the company which has most developed commercial ties with Africa in terms of exports.
- Africa-Canada Partnership: To reward the best partnership project between a Canadian company and an African company.
- Women entrepreneurship development: To reward the company which has most contributed (training, support, finance) to develop projects led by women in Africa.
ELIGIBILTY
All Canadian SME’s with a turnover of at most 25 million dollars and less than 300 employees. Companies concerned must have carried out projects in one or more African countries during the past two years. The award ceremony will be held during the Afrique Expansion Gala on September 6th , 2011 at Fairmont Reine Elizabeth Hotel, Montreal, as part of the activities of the Forum Africa 2011.
